WoW Forever Rotation

Frost Mage Rotation in WoW Forever

The Frost Mage rotation in WoW Forever is built around one simple filler and two procs. You cast Frostbolt most of the time, and you react when Fingers of Frost reaches two stacks or Missile Barrage appears.

Frost Mage rotation priority

Work from the top of this Frost Mage rotation list. On each global cooldown, press the first spell whose condition is true.

  1. 01Ice BarrierKeep it up for its Frost damage bonus.
  2. 02EvocationUse it when you fall below 20% mana.
  3. 03Ice LanceCast it at 2 stacks of Fingers of Frost.
  4. 04Arcane MissilesCast it when Missile Barrage makes it fast and free.
  5. 05FrostboltYour filler in every other moment.

How the Frost Mage rotation plays

Begin the fight with Ice Barrier up, because it adds Frost damage while it holds. Then cast Frostbolt and watch your buff bar. The rotation is calm until a proc appears, so your main job is to notice it in time.

Fingers of Frost has two useful stages. With one stack, your next Frostbolt hits as if the target were Frozen. With two stacks, cast Ice Lance. Ice Lance shares an 8 second cooldown with Fire Blast, so don't plan on pressing both in a row.

Missile Barrage gives you a fast, free Arcane Missiles, which also saves mana on a long fight. If your mana drops under 20%, use Evocation early enough that you aren't left casting nothing.

Common mistakes to avoid

These slips cost the most damage in a Frost Mage rotation.

  • Spending Ice Lance at one stack instead of waiting for two.
  • Missing a Missile Barrage proc while focused on Frostbolt casts.
  • Waiting until you are out of mana to use Evocation.

A practice drill

To lock in your Frost Mage rotation: Choose a 2 minute fight so mana starts to matter, then turn the hints off and call out each proc as it appears.
