WoW Forever Rotation

Shadow Priest Rotation in WoW Forever

The Shadow Priest rotation in WoW Forever is steady and easy to read. You stay in Shadowform, keep your damage over time running, use Mind Blast on cooldown, and channel Mind Flay in every remaining moment.

Shadow Priest rotation priority

Work from the top of this Shadow Priest rotation list. On each global cooldown, press the first spell whose condition is true.

  1. 01ShadowformStay in it for the whole fight.
  2. 02Shadow Word: PainKeep it up.
  3. 03Devouring PlagueUse it on cooldown.
  4. 04Inner FocusUse it on cooldown, just before Mind Blast.
  5. 05Mind BlastUse it on cooldown.
  6. 06Shadow Word: DeathUse it on cooldown once it is available in the last part of the fight.
  7. 07Mind FlayYour filler in every other moment.

How the Shadow Priest rotation plays

Start in Shadowform and apply Shadow Word: Pain and Devouring Plague. Each tick of those effects can crit on its own, so uptime matters more than perfect timing on any single cast.

Mind Blast is your main cooldown. Press Inner Focus just before it whenever both are ready, and don't let Mind Flay delay Mind Blast. Clip the channel if that is what it takes to keep Mind Blast on time.

Late in the fight, Shadow Word: Death becomes available and joins the priority above Mind Flay. The practice option for execute range helps here if your build includes Early Demise.

Common mistakes to avoid

These slips cost the most damage in a Shadow Priest rotation.

  • Finishing a Mind Flay channel while Mind Blast sits ready.
  • Using Inner Focus without a Mind Blast to follow it.
  • Letting Shadow Word: Pain drop while channeling.

A practice drill

To lock in your Shadow Priest rotation: Turn the hints off and run a 60 second fight. Count how many Mind Blasts you land, then try to beat that count.
